Colleen’s Gardens began with knowledge passed through generations.
Colleen Cordell is a member of the Sisseton Wahpeton/Sioux Tribe and the great-great-great-granddaughter of Sioux Chief Little Crow. She learned growing, harvesting, and crafting traditions from her grandmother and great-grandmother and has continued those practices for more than five decades.
Knowledge Passed Down
Long before Colleen’s Gardens became an online store, Colleen was learning how to identify, gather, and prepare plants from her family.
That knowledge still guides her work today. She follows the practice of taking only what is needed and leaving enough for the plants and land to continue producing.
More than an Herb Shop
The shop also carries authentic, handcrafted Native-made goods, including dream catchers, medicine bags, pipe bags, and beadwork.
For artists and makers, Colleen’s Gardens offers commercial crafting materials such as seed beads, thread, and needles.

Colleen’s Gardens is based in Marvin, South Dakota, and ships within the United States and internationally when applicable import, export, customs, agricultural, and carrier regulations allow.
